Accreditation Resources for Clinical Postgraduate PA Programs
The ARC-PA has developed several resources for programs to review and consider as they prepare their application materials. Several of these are described below.
The power point show from the PAEA/APPAP New Orleans meeting in the fall 2011 is posted here.
ARC-PA Policies
(May 2011)
The ARC-PA has compiled a partial Policy Manual available here as an informational resource for physician assistant program faculty, staff and the general public in reference to Commission activities directly related to program accreditation. These policies include those related to clinical postgraduate programs.
Preparing for a Site Visit
Materials from the fall 2011 PAEA meeting in New Orleans on Is A Site Visit in Your Future? are posted here as a PDF for your review. While these were developed for entry level programs, much of this is applicable to clinical postgraduate programs. (Please note that if there are notes on the notes pages of the slide, you may see those by placing your cursor over the icon in the upper left corner of the slide.)
Analysis and the SSR Power Point Show
The power point show on Elements of Analysis, from September, 2011, is available here in a read only format. While this was developed for entry level programs, much of this is applicable to clinical postgraduate programs, and will apply to future changes in the application materials..
Syllabi, Competencies, Objectives
ARC-PA Standards do not use the term "objectives," but refer instead to expected competencies. The ARC-PA has developed a document entitled “Syllabi, Competencies, and Instructional Objectives: A Guide for PA Program Faculty” to provide a brief description of the role of the syllabus, and the similarities and differences between instructional objectives and competencies. This document is available here for downloading in adobe format.

Organizing Materials for a Site Visit
The program should review the information developed for entry level PA programs (November 2011) about organizing materials for a site visit. Note that references in this PDF document are for entry level Standards, but the concepts of organizing materials apply to all programs.
