Power Point Show (Revised!)
The
ARC-PA has updated its power point presentation on accreditation that
can be used by PA programs as they discuss the topic of accreditation with
their students (Standard B6.03f). It was developed with Power
Point XP version.
The show is available in a dark blue or light background.
Based on feedback received from those who used it last year,
it CAN be downloaded
and reformatted for your use with other slides. It
is designed in two parts, with
the
first
part
addressing
the
general
topic
of

Syllabi,
Competencies, Objectives
ARC-PA Standards,
3rd edition, effective September 2006, no longer refer to objectives,
but refer instead to expected competencies
(B1.06, C3.02) The ARC-PA has developed a document entitled “Syllabi,
Competencies, and Instructional Objectives: A Guide for PA Program
Faculty” to provide a brief description of the role of
the syllabus, and the similarities and differences between instructional
objectives and competencies. This document is available here
for
downloading in adobe format.

Preparing for
a Site Visit
The
goals of a presentation at the fall 2005 PAEA meeting were to
review the site visit process, to help those preparing
for a visit assist the visitors in their task, to provide examples of
methods of organizing materials for the visit, and to help programs understand
more about data analysis. The outline (pdf) from
the presentation is available here. Handouts used during the presentation
were copies of materials available on the Continuing
Accreditation section of this web site.
Communicating
with the ARC-PA
The
goals of a session presented at the fall 2005 PAEA meeting were to assist
programs in communicating effectively with
the ARC-PA, to share the types of written communication/reports
requested by the ARC-PA, to clarify the expectations
of the ARC-PA re reports submitted. The outline (pdf) from
this presentation is available here. A copy of the handout (pdf) with
examples of the types and formats of correspondence
received is also available.
